My buddy Kevin & I got up at the crack of dawn, and hit the reserve & a few other local spots. The real treat was the Black Crowned Night Heron & a Green Heron hanging very close to the edge of the Newbury green pond. With some slow moving on our part the brids let us get VERY close. I know Green Herons are not rare, but it was so cool to see one up so close. Not bothered by me at all.
The sequence went some thing like this:
cedar
Paurala
Kev
These are truly incredible. Worth the early wake-up. Just ridiculous.
