I made a few stops today after work. First stop was PRNWR, lots of Flickers and a good number of Kestrels. Also 3 Snowy Egrets in the pannes. On my way to Ipswich I stopped at the Pilkes Pannes on 1A, about 30 Glossy Ibis were there. First Glossy of the year. Next I shot over to Ipswich to check on the Great Horned Owl nest, still no owlets...just mom in the 80 degree heat.
Last stop was Nelsons Island, a few Yellow Rumped Warblers. Also a first of the year.
Sean, these are great photos. I'm very impressed. You may not remember me, but I'm pretty sure we went to elementary school together. Am about to move back to Ipswich and was looking up some bird information, ended up on your blog. Thanks for sharing your adventures/photographs. I too have been enjoying the snowy egrets! ~Megan
ReplyDeleteOf course I remember you, welcome back ! My rents are in Ipswich still...I'm out on P.I. but its very close. Let me know if you ever want to tag along on a birding adventure...there is an owl nest in Ipswich that I check up on every week or so as well. Glad you enjoy the captures.

I would love to see an owl nest in Ipswich! Am not even sure what that would mean. Do we dress in camouflage or wear feathers? : ) Let me know when you're next in town. I'm around this weekend. 978-500-8314.
